Kids Teaching Us Mindfulness…Mindful Monday

Kids Teaching Us Mindfulness…Mindful Monday

Mindfulness is “the intentional, accepting and non-judgemental focus of one’s attention on the emotions, thoughts and sensations occurring in the present moment”, which can be trained by meditational practices derived from Buddhist anapanasati.

So let me get this straight, these little kids have figured out what has taken me YEARS to grasp?

I want to feel bad about myself…that late bloomer thing and all…but I can’t get past the exhilaration.

What an incredible future lies in store for the world if this catches on.

What amazing students they’ll be;

What incredible employees and business owners;

Imagine the children they’ll raise!

You guys, this is getting so good.

Carry on — mindfully,

xox

    I LOVE this post… I have been teaching my kids this for years…the breathing is key…I love the visual of the glitter jar, gonna try that…I ,myself do the breathing when I am stressed out and my kids have seen me do that many times, I think it helped model it for them.

    I’ve made those glitter jars with the kids at church. It’s a great way to help them “see” what their minds are doing and as they mindfully watch the glitter fall until it’s all at the bottom, they get it (plus they are fun to make). Yes, the new generation is amazing — the evolution of consciousness. I love it!

      That’s so great Nancy! Being as visual as I am, the glitter jar would have made such an impression on me as a kid — maybe I’ll make one for myself right now! It must be amazing to see this consciousness evolution in action with the kids these days. Thanks so much for sharing!
